En outre, la journ\u00e9e visait \u00e0 \u00e9tablir un r\u00e9seau scientifique camerounais qui favorise la flexibilit\u00e9 et la collaboration multidisciplinaire.<\/p><p>Un large \u00e9ventail de participants, y compris des \u00e9tudiants, des enseignants et des chercheurs de treize institutions diff\u00e9rentes r\u00e9parties dans sept r\u00e9gions du Cameroun, se sont r\u00e9unis pour l&rsquo;\u00e9v\u00e9nement. Avec un total de 110 participants, la conf\u00e9rence a commenc\u00e9 avec l&rsquo;arriv\u00e9e du directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral adjoint de l&rsquo;IMPM \u00e0 9h45.<\/p><p>Le programme comprenait une s\u00e9rie de pr\u00e9sentations divis\u00e9es en trois modules : \u00ab La schistosomiase en un coup d&rsquo;\u0153il \u00bb, \u00ab Nouvelles perspectives dans les interactions h\u00f4te-schistosome \u00bb et \u00ab Schistosomiase g\u00e9nitale \u00bb. Les sessions orales ont \u00e9t\u00e9 suivies d&rsquo;une discussion g\u00e9n\u00e9rale afin de favoriser le dialogue et l&rsquo;\u00e9change entre les participants.<\/p><p>La c\u00e9r\u00e9monie de cl\u00f4ture, pr\u00e9sid\u00e9e par le directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de l&rsquo;IMPM, a d\u00e9but\u00e9 par un mot du Directeur de la Recherche, de la Valorisation et de l&rsquo;Innovation, suivi d&rsquo;un r\u00e9sum\u00e9 des activit\u00e9s de la journ\u00e9e par le Dr Justin Nono Komguep, chef du laboratoire de biologie mol\u00e9culaire et de biotechnologie et pr\u00e9sident du comit\u00e9 d&rsquo;organisation. Le Dr Nono a remerci\u00e9 tous les participants et a annonc\u00e9 les laur\u00e9ats des meilleures pr\u00e9sentations orales, qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9valu\u00e9es par une commission scientifique. L&rsquo;\u00e9v\u00e9nement s&rsquo;est achev\u00e9 par une m\u00e9morable photo de famille aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s des laur\u00e9ats.<\/p><p>Cette premi\u00e8re Journ\u00e9e de la schistosomiase a constitu\u00e9 une plate-forme pour le partage des connaissances, la mise en r\u00e9seau et la reconnaissance des contributions exceptionnelles \u00e0 la recherche. Elle t\u00e9moigne des efforts collectifs d\u00e9ploy\u00e9s pour relever les d\u00e9fis pos\u00e9s par la schistosomiase et faire progresser la lutte contre cette maladie d\u00e9bilitante.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-33 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-38c839a exad-glass-effect-no exad-sticky-section-no\" data-id=\"38c839a\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-72ac818 exad-sticky-section-no exad-glass-effect-no elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"72ac818\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><b><\/b><strong>Day Description<\/strong><\/p><p>More than 240 million people worldwide are affected by the water-borne disease schistosomiasis, with an estimated 200,000 losing their lives annually in sub-Saharan Africa. Schistosomiasis (also called bilharzia) often affects underprivileged developing communities, where access to safe water and sanitation is limited. The combined impact of the disease burden and economic costs makes schistosomiasis one of the most devastating neglected tropical diseases.<\/p><p>The objectives of this first Schisto day was to initiate public awareness by reinforcing knowledge and involving young scientists in the fight against the disease and to build a Cameroonian scientific network providing the necessary flexibility to adapt to a broad spectrum of arising challenges and increasing cross-functional work between researchers in different disciplines.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section
